SILVIJA POTOČNIK was born in 1964 in Maribor. Today he lives and works in Leitring. She showed her interest in creative creation at an early age, so she trained as a seamstress. After a life tragedy in which she lost her sixteen-year-old son in 2011, she found solace in artistic creation. At first, she painted realistic figures with acrylic paints, but today she also tries her hand at other techniques, such as e.g. painting with neon colors. Silvija Potočnik is an author who is always full of new ideas and work ethic, recipient of awards, co-organizer of the art symposium in Ehrenhausen in 2016. In Slovenia, he regularly participates in the annual Duplek Art international art colonies, which are led by the renowned Slovenian painter Rajko Ferk. For herself, she says that the colors and the brush are a cure for her sadness and the pains inflicted by a cruel fate.
