Academic painter Miodrag Janković was born in 1958 in Serbia. He is the son of a migrant family that sought a better life abroad. It didn't turn out to be a better life for the teenager who was raised among early Roman architecture, gypsy music, a colorful land and even more colorful characters full of passion for life. Instead, he faced a conservative lifestyle in endless suburbs where he was constantly exposed to racism and bullying. These elements were the starting point for him to start expressing himself through painting and drawing.
