​Igor Ribič was born in 1962 in Ljubljana. He is an academic painter, illustrator, comic artist, actor, keyboardist and singer. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In children's plays and television shows, he is known for his role as Pepe the Fisherman, with whom thousands of Slovenian children grew up in the last decade. He started drawing illustrations for the newspaper at the age of thirteen. Today, as an illustrator, he works primarily in the field of children's and youth book illustration. He designed integrated images and scenographies for various theater, film and television projects. He also established himself as a decorator and technical editor of publications of various publishing houses. He played keyboards and sang in the very successful pop group Gu Gu.
